香港警察 議員らを逮捕

Police in Hong Kong arrested three lawmakers on Friday amid a roundup of pro-democracy figures.
香港の警察は金曜日、民主派の議員三人を逮捕した。
Police say they detained Cheng Chung-tai on suspicion of breaking into the legislature building and vandalizing objects on July 1.
警察は、7月1日に立法会の建物に侵入し物を壊した疑いで鄭松泰議員を拘束したという。
They arrested two other lawmakers, Au Nok-hin and Jeremy tam, on allegations of obstructing police from performing their duties.
警察は他に、職務執行を妨害した疑いで、区諾軒議員と譚文豪議員の二人を逮捕した。
A number of leading democracy activists have been arrested since Thursday.
木曜から多くの民主化活動家が逮捕されている。
They include Joshua Wong and Agnes Chow, central figures in the Umbrella Movement in 2014 that called for the democratic election of Hong Kong’s chief executive.
民主的な選挙を求めた2014年の雨傘運動の中心的人物だった、黄之鋒と周庭も含まれている。
The two were released on bail after being arrested and indicted on Friday.
二人は金曜に逮捕、起訴された後に保釈された。
Police also arrested the leader of the Hong Kong National Party, which advocates the territory’s independence.
警察は 香港独立を主張する香港民族党のリーダーもまた逮捕した。
Five other people were also detained in connection with protests in July. Demonstrations have continued for more than two months over an extradition bill.
他に五人が7月の抗議に関わったことで拘束された。抗議活動は逃亡条例改正案に対し、二ヶ月以上続いている。
Protest organizers have cancelled plans to hold a massive demonstration on Saturday after police refused to give permission.
抗議の代表者は、警察がデモを許可しなかったのちに、大規模なデモ行進をする計画を中止した。
Police say the timing of the arrests is not related to the protest plan.
警察は、逮捕のタイミングは抗議計画とは無関係であると述べた。
Observers say the crackdown has fueled anger among protesters, and that many people will likely take to the streets on Saturday.
弾圧は抗議への参加者の間で怒りを増幅させており、多くの人々は土曜日にデモ活動をする可能性が高い。
