錦織がウィンブルドンで4回戦進出

Japanese tennis star Kei Nishikori has reached the fourth round at Wimbledon for the second consecutive year.
日本のテニススター、錦織圭がウィンブルドンで2年連続4回戦に進出しました。
The world number seven beat American player Steve Johnson, who is ranked 71st, with a straight win in the third round of the grass-court championship in London on Saturday.
世界ランク7位が、土曜日にロンドンで開催されたグラスコートチャンピオンシップの3回戦で、世界ランク71位のアメリカ人選手スティーブジョンソンをストレートで破りました。
Nishikori delivered powerful strokes and accurate volleys against Johnson to win the first set 6-4.
錦織はジョンソンに対して鋭いストロークと精度の高いボレーを見せ、第1セットを6-4で勝ちとりました。
In the second set, the Japanese star was able to control his strokes well, hitting shots left and right. Nishikori won the set 6-3 with a forehand super shot in a fast rally.
第2セットでは、日本のスターはストロークをうまくコントロールし左右にショットを打つことができました。錦織は速いラリーでフォアハンドをきめ、6-3で勝ちました。
He closed out a 6-2 victory in the third set with good serves and sharp returns, marking his 400th career win.
彼は好調なサーブと鋭いリターンで6-2で第3セットを取り、通算４００勝を記録しました。
He will advance to the fourth round of Wimbledon for the fourth time in good health. This is the first time he made it to the last 16 at Wimbledon with straight wins.
彼は好調な状態で4回目のウィンブルドン4回戦に進みます。彼がウィンブルドンで、全てストレート勝ちで16強まできたのは今回が初めてです。
Speaking to reporters after the match, Nishikori attributed the victory to successful serves. He said he was able to get points with the first serves as he was confident even when he was on the back foot.
試合後に記者団に対し話したことよると、錦織は好調なサーブが勝利をもたらしたと考えていいます。劣勢の時でさえ自信があったので、最初のサーブでポイントを得ることができたと述べました。
He also said that he began to control games with aggressive returns as he could predict the course of Johnson’s serves.
彼はまた、ジョンソンのサーブのコースを予測することができたので、攻撃的なリターンでゲームをコントロールし始めたと述べました。
He said he could press Johnson in the opponent’s service game so that he was able to relax with his own serves.

The Japanese star said he remains in good shape as he did well in the first three rounds and he could wrap them up in relatively short time with only one tiebreak.

He added that he needs another approach to take care of his body as he may stress his muscles differently by playing on grass.

Nishikori will face Kazakhstan’s Mikhail Kukushkin next. The Japanese star has won all eight matches against him so far.
錦織は次にカザフスタンのミカエル・ククシュキンと対戦する。日本のスターはこれまでに彼との8試合すべて勝ってきました。
But Kukushkin is coming off fresh from victories over ninth seed John Isner and 33rd seed Jan-Lennard Struff.
しかし、ククシュキンは第9シードのジョン・イズナーと第33シードのヤン・レナード・ストラフの勝利しており非常に好調です。
