Italy has reported its highest day-to-day increase in deaths from the new coronavirus, bringing the total to more than 4,000 in the country.
イタリアは、新型コロナウィルスによる死者数が一日で増加し、国内で合計で4,000人以上に上ったと伝えた。
The Civil Protection Agency said on Friday that there were 627 new deaths, bringing the total to 4,032.
市民保護局は金曜日、新たに627人の死者が出て、合計は4,032人に上っていると述べた。

The total number of cases in Italy rose to 47,021.

The virus is putting pressure on the medical system in the north, where infections are concentrated.

In a video statement, the country’s nurses’ federation said there is no more time, adding that beds, equipment and personnel are in short supply.

Civil Protection Chief Angelo Borrelli said there were now 8,000 intensive care beds, up from 5,400 before the outbreak, stressing efforts to increase the number.
