シリア難民を支援するためイスタンブールで抗議

People in Turkey have gathered to protest after the governor’s office of Istanbul Province ordered unregistered Syrian refugees to leave.
イスタンブール県当局が無登録のシリア難民に退去を命じた後、トルコの人々は抗議するために集まりました。
About 100 protesters joined the rally in the city of Istanbul on Saturday in response to a call from a Turkish aid group.
トルコの援助団体からの電話を受けて、土曜日のイスタンブール市内で約100人の抗議者が集会に参加しました。
Turkey is home to about 3.6 million Syrian refugees—the largest number in the world. About one million of them are said to live in Istanbul Province.
トルコには、世界で最大の360万人のシリア難民が住んでいます。そのうちの約100万人がイスタンブール県に住んでいると言われています。
The governor’s office announced last week that Syrian refugees not registered in the province will have until August 20 to leave Istanbul.
当局は先週、県内の無登録のシリア難民は8月20日までにイスタンブールを退去させることを発表しました。
Participants in the rally held placards reading Syrian refugees are their brothers and sisters. They said the local government’s order goes against humanity.
集会の参加者たちは、シリア難民は私たちの兄弟姉妹ですと書かれたプラカードを掲げました。彼らは、当局の命令は人道に反すると述べました。
Meanwhile, some other people near the venue said Syrian refugees should be forced out.
一方会場の近くでは、シリア難民は強制的に追放されるべきだと言う人達もいました。
Many police officers were dispatched to prevent a clash.
衝突を防ぐため、多くの警官が配置されました。
Authorities in Istanbul plan to push ahead with the order to reduce the number of Syrian refugees in the province. Tensions have been emerging between residents and Syrian refugees who are unable to go back as the country’s civil war has been ongoing for over eight years.
イスタンブール当局は、県内のシリア難民の数を減らすための措置を推進する予定です。トルコ住民と、8年以上続く内戦のため帰ることのできないシリアの難民の間で、緊張が高まっています。
