Stocks in New York plunged on Wednesday as traders interpreted Treasury rates as a new signal of a recession.

トレーダーが米国債の利回りを景気後退の予兆と解釈したため、ニューヨークの株価は水曜日に急落した。

The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended the day at 25,479 points. That’s down 800 points, or more than 3 percent, from the previous day. It was Wall Street’s biggest loss of the year.

ダウ平均株価は25,479ドルで一日を終えた。前日から800ドル、つまり3％以上下落しています。米国金融市場で今年最大の損失でした。

It happened when the yield on the long-term Treasury bond fell, dropping just below the yield on the short-term Treasury bond.

長期国債の利回りが低下し、短期国債の利回りをわずかに下回ったときに起きた。

Market analysts say funds are flowing into the bond markets because of factors like the recent trade conflict between the US and China, and the unstable situation in Hong Kong.
